The changing of seasons brings all kinds of excitement. Students explore the season of summer through a variety of lenses including stories about nostalgia, and activism as well as meditations on the season utilizing the forms of spoken word, vox pop and audio postcards. Hosts Gabe Rima and Sara Davis invite you to join them in the backyard and on the beach for this episode of Audio Revolution.
“In The Land Of Summer” is a fictional piece written by Marzia Dessi. Created during the Youth Media Project’s Summer Intensive collaboration with the Santa Fe Art Institute. The radio poem follows the fate of Sunville, an infinite place of summer and sun and green grass and smiles and the infamous magican Mr. Summer. Marzia’s land of the summer can be seen as an allegory for growing up or the environmental degradation our world is experiencing.
